Wedding Dates Require Planning

Newcastle Herald

Thursday October 23, 1997

IF a December wedding is on your mind, it's time to start making your bookings.

And that means the 1998 December, not the one that is just around the corner.

For several months of the year some aspects of a wedding, such as the reception venue and the church, need to be booked as far ahead as 18 months or two years to avoid disappointment.

The chairman of the Newcastle Wedding Connection advisory service, Mr Lawrence Morrow, said that while December was not the busiest wedding month of the year, it was still popular enough to make forward planning highly advisable.

As well as the church and the reception venue, he said people planning weddings needed to book well ahead for services such as photographs and videos, make-up, music and transport.

Newcastle marriage celebrant Neil Wright suggested people should consider alternative times and days for their weddings to avoid the problem of finding their first choice already booked out.
