AN on-stage wedding will be just one of the many highlights of the 13th annual Bridal Fair in Newcastle.
The Post Group of Newspapers and Helen Duncan Promotions will combine to present the fair at Club Nova Newcastle on Sunday, May 27.
The event, which attracts large crowds of viewers and participants each year, is regarded as the region's largest and most prestigious bridal spectacular.
Other features of the day-long fair will include parades of futuristic and Federation wedding fashions, and exhibitions and displays offering up-to-date information on a wide range of bridal services.
The on-stage wedding will be the culmination of a competition in the weeks leading up to the fair in May.
Readers of the Post Group of Newspapers and The Newcastle Herald have the chance to win a fully paid wedding for 50 guests, including the ceremony during the bridal fair.
They will be married on the stage of the main auditorium at Club Nova at 3pm.
The prize also includes the invitations, the wedding gown, the flowers, the reception and the honeymoon.
Before and after the wedding, visitors to the bridal fair can view the big range of displays which will be on show from 10.30am until 6pm at the club.
Services represented will include photography, wedding videos, invitations, bridal gowns, cosmetics, wedding cakes, grooms' attire and bridal registries.
Representatives of many of these services will also be on hand at the fair to answer questions and offer helpful hints on how to have a trouble-free wedding.
`The wedding day is the biggest day of most people's lives, but its preparation can cause many problems,' said an organiser of the May spectacular.
`The bridal fair will make it easier to plan the perfect wedding.'
She said couples who wanted to enter the competition for the fully paid wedding would need to explain in 250 words or less why they should win the prize.
They would also need to provide a photograph and be prepared to be married on stage in the club auditorium at the bridal fair on Sunday, May 27.
Keep an eye on the Post and Herald in the next few weeks for entry forms for the competition.
